Paediatric Dermatology Nurse – Helpline (Sessional / Part-Time remote working)

The Irish Skin Foundation (ISF) is seeking a compassionate and experienced Paediatric Dermatology Nurse to join our remote Ask-a-Nurse Helpline. This sessional, part-time role focuses on providing high-quality information and practical support to parents, carers, and young people navigating childhood skin conditions.

The ISF Ask-a-Nurse Helpline provides free, confidential, specialist information and support to people living with skin conditions, mainly across Ireland. Our helpline operates on a scheduled call-back model, giving patients and families dedicated time with an experienced dermatology nurse. 

About the Role

Working as part of our specialist nursing team, you will:

  • Provide evidence-based information, education and practical tips on paediatric skin conditions.
  • Support families in understanding treatment plans and skin care routines.
  • Signpost callers to appropriate healthcare services and reliable information resources.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records of helpline interactions.
  • Work within ISF policies, professional nursing standards and scope of practice.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse with registration maintained with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
  • Significant clinical experience in paediatric dermatology.
  • Excellent communication, listening and telephone consultation skills.
  • Ability to explain complex clinical information in a clear and reassuring manner.
  • Commitment to patient-centred, compassionate care.
  • Knowledge of Irish dermatology services and referral pathways.
