Prof Anne-Marie Tobin (Consultant Dermatologist and Vice-Chair of the ISF), David McMahon (CEO), Michelle Dolan (Health Promotion), Kate Kivlehan (Deputy Chair of the EHAI), Michelle Greenwood (Health Promotion).
Congratulations to the Irish Skin Foundation, in particular Michelle Dolan and Michelle Greenwood who are IDNA members, and have worked very hard to raise awareness about the dangers of ultraviolet radiation from artificial tanning devices and the overexposure of ultraviolet radiation from the sun.
The Environmental Health Association Ireland (EHAI) has awarded the John Shelly Bursary to the ISF, in support of their work to raise awareness about the dangers of artificial tanning devices, and the risks associated with overexposure to natural ultraviolet radiation emitted by the Sun.
The EHAI is the professional body representing (among others) the public servants who inspect sunbed-hosting premises throughout Ireland and enforce the regulations regarding the use of these devices in the community.
The award received from the EHAI Central Council will support the development of their SunSmart materials used in their work to prevent skin cancer.
